Ports in Transition: Building Resilient Ecosystems
Final learnings from the MAGPIE & PIONEERS projects
The EU-funded PIONEERS and MAGPIE projects concluded five years of collaborative work at a joint event held on 17 September 2026 in Rotterdam.
Over the course of the event, we brought together port authorities, cities, industry, researchers, policymakers and other partners to discuss the challenges facing European ports and what comes next for the transition.
We hope you enjoyed the discussions, Learning Labs and exchanges, and that you left with new ideas and connections to take back to your own work.
Missed something, or want to revisit the day? You can read the conference press release on MAGPIE & PIONEERS homepages here or on CINEA’s website here. Stay tuned, as we’ll be sharing more content from the conference, including photos and a summary of the Learning Labs, in the coming weeks. And keep an eye out for the conference aftermovie, coming soon. You can follow us on LinkedIn for must updated content: MAGPIE&PIONEERS.
The conference marked an important milestone for the MAGPIE and PIONEERS projects, but the work does not stop here. The Green Innovation Compass application, as well as PIONEERS’ Handbook Explorer will remain available through the two project websites. Together, they will continue to bring together the knowledge, solutions and lessons developed throughout the projects and make them accessible to the wider port community.
Thank you again for being part of it.
