PIONEERS Project Steering Committee Meeting at Port of Constanta

The recent PIONEERS project Steering Committee meeting was hosted for the first time by the Port of Constanța on 10th and 11th May 2023, bringing together representatives from the four partner ports– Antwerp-Bruges, Barcelona, Constanta and Venlo – and each work package leader.

Two days of intensive work sessions focused on reviewing the progress of the project activities. On May 10th, the first interactive workshop delved into non-technological barriers in the demonstrators’ implementation and the related root analysis. Then parallel sessions dedicated to the design of the Green Port Master Plan and the integration in the port eco-system of the innovation from the demonstrators took place. This working day ended with a fantastic dinner with the consortium partners, where everyone got the chance to get to know each other better.

On the second day, participants had a presentation showcasing the Port of Constanta impressive facilities and ongoing projects. Then, to deepen their understanding, they embarked on a technical tour aboard the Anghel Saligny vessel and explored the Constanta South Container Terminal.

The outcomes of the Steering Committee meeting set the stage for further advancements in the PIONEERS project, reinforcing the importance of consortium cooperation in Shaping the Green Future of our ports.
