PIONEERS at WCTR 2026
From 6–10 July 2026, the PIONEERS Ports project participated in the World Conference on Transport Research (WCTR 2026) in Toulouse, France.
Recognised as one of the world’s leading transport research conferences, WCTR brings together researchers, engineers, policymakers, and industry professionals from across the globe to exchange knowledge and discuss the future of transportation.
As part of the conference programme, PIONEERS organised a dedicated special session focusing on the future of sustainable and innovative port ecosystems. The session provided an opportunity to share insights, foster dialogue, and explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the next generation of port development.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our session moderator, Claudio Ferrari, and to our distinguished speakers:
- Peter van Wijlick
- Wouter Schmidt
- Arnaud Burgess
We also thank the conference organisers for delivering an outstanding event, and express our special appreciation to Thierry Vanelslander for his support in making our participation possible.
It was a privilege to contribute to the international discussion on the future of transport, and we look forward to continuing these important conversations through future collaboration.
