PIONEERS at Smart City Plaza event on electrification of Mobility and Logistics
On 27th June 2023, the 10th Meeting of Smart City Plaza on tour was held at the Industriepark Kleefse Waard (IPKW) in Arnhem, the Netherlands, one of the most sustainable business parks in the region.
Smart City Plaza is an independent platform for governments and companies working on sustainable and smart public space, organising this event primarily for Dutch municipalities. Within the PIONEERS project, one of our partners, Venlo Municipality attended this event.
Peter van Wijlick (Venlo Municipality) presented PIONEERS, with a particular focus on the initiatives taking place in Venlo – the electric green last mile and the corridor of modular docking stations for energy containers project, while also introducing the Antwerp project, battery storage and smart management of green energy in terminal operations.
The meeting included visits to various companies located at IPKW, one of the visits was to the Elaad Foundation, known for its independent research and testing of (logistics) charging infrastructure. Additionally, van Gelder delivered an engaging presentation on sustainability and electrification within the Civil Engineering sector. The municipality of Heerenveen shared their knowledge and experiences regarding the installation and deployment of charging infrastructure.
