PIONEERS at IPIC 2023

The International Physical Internet Conference (IPIC) returned for its 9th edition in sunny Athens, Greece, from 13 to 15 June 2023. Organised by ALICE ETP, ICCS and CERTH with the support of the European Commission.

IPIC serves as an open forum for researchers, industry representatives, government officials and citizens to together explore, discuss, and introduce leading-edge concepts, methodologies, recent projects, technological advancements, and start-up initiatives for current and future Physical Internet implementation.

The PIONEERS consortium played an active role in IPIC2023, with several of our partners participating and engaging with the event in various ways. On the first day, 13 June, at session 2C, Chiara Saragani, CENIT (CIMNE), Port of Barcelona, spoke on the topic of “Digital Twin for reducing emissions”, focusing on the Port of Barcelona pilot, highlighting the innovative approaches to addressing environmental concerns through digital technology. Simultaneously, session 2B shed light on “The Physical Internet Living Lab: Establishing the First Blueprint for a PI-Network”, with imec. Both sessions featured the PIONEERS project and its journey of Shaping the Green Ports of the Future.

Thank you to all participants who joined us for the sessions and visited us at the ALICE and ICCS booths. It was an incredible opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and share the latest developments of PIONEERS with numerous relevant stakeholders.
