The European Maritime Day (EMD) is the annual two-day event during which Europe’s maritime community meet to network, discuss and outline joint action on maritime affairs and sustainable blue economy.
This year’s edition took place in Brest, France, from 24 to 25 May 2023, organised by the European Commission, the City of Brest, the Secretariat General for the Sea and the Region of Bretagne.
MAGPIE and PIONEERS, the sister projects under the EU Green Deal call, were featured in MAGPIE’s booth at the exhibition area. Both projects collaborate to enhance cross-cooperation and accelerate innovation, committed to shaping the green ports of the future.
The EMD is the place where ‘Ocean Leaders Meet’, and this year’s EMD not only served as a space for knowledge exchange but also emphasised the importance of taking action. It provided an engaging and complete interactive experience to catch up on the current state of play on a broad range of issues concerning the blue economy and the marine environment and discuss ways of moving forward with experts from businesses, governments, public institutions, NGOs and academia.
Thank you to everyone for joining us at MAGPIE’s booth. See you next year!
