The city of Antwerp has implemented the “Smart Ways to Antwerp” program, which aims to create smarter and more sustainable transportation policies for employee commuting achieving a long-term behavioural change.

Now, as a partner in the PIONEERS consortium, the city of Antwerp is looking to extend this successful approach to more businesses in the port area The ambition is to implement specific initiatives to encourage a shift towards more sustainable transportation among employers and employees, for instance increasing the use of cycling and building kilometers of cycle paths in the port area as envisaged in the masterplan for bicycle infrastructure.
