2nd Green Deal Projects Support Office (GDSO) Board of Coordinators meeting

On June 5th, 2023, the second GDSO Board of Coordinators meeting took place in Brussels, Belgium. The afternoon started with an update on relevant Policy with Emilie Vandam, Policy Officer at DG RTD, followed by breakout sessions addressing cross-cutting topics, fostering engagement and knowledge exchange among all working groups.

Along with 8 inspiring research and innovation projects (Green Deal ARV, OLGA Project, TULIPS – Green Airports, oPEN Lab, Stargate – EU Green Deal, NetZeroCitiesEU, MAGPIE) from 4 different Green Deal Calls, PIONEERS is part of the EU Green Deal “Urban Environment and Mobility” working group.

This working group mainly focuses on reducing rising emissions from transport and the building sector and the increasing green transition at the urban and local levels (more sustainable (air)ports, buildings, neighbourhoods and cities). By joining forces and implementing innovative approaches and actions, the working groups aim to help Europe achieve a 90% reduction in transport-related greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

PIONEERS had the opportunity to share its successful demo with the Urban Mobility Working Group – the launch of the world’s first dual-fuel hydrogen straddle carrier. Our consortium partner from Antwerp Terminal Services, Bart Paijmans, presented the demo, current challenges, main highlights and lessons learned.
