[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] PIONEERS at Emission-free Inland Ports event 2023 [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]As a part of the Schone Lucht Akkoord (Clean Air Agreement) program, the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Waterways organised an event focused on emission-free inland ports on December 12, 2023, in Utrecht, the Netherlands.   Peter van Wijlick from the Municipality of Venlo and Gerwin Zomer from BISCI presented Port of Venlo’s Green Port Master Plan approach, within the work developed in PIONEERS. The presentation led to a lively discussion both on the strategy to guide the Port to be climate-neutral by 2050 and how it can benefit from the 19 innovative demos from the PIONEERS project. Pro Danube in cooperation with the Green Inland Ports Study, MultiRELOAD, and Innovation Action SYNERGETICS projects, organised the event with the valued support of the Danube Ports Network.   PIONEERS was present at the conference by our consortium partners Peter van Wijlick from Municipality of Venlo and Nik Delmeire from European Inland Waterway Transport Platform. PIONEERS at AIVP Conference 2023

Themed "Linking Ports and Citizens: A shared vision for the Future", the event was organised by AIVP in collaboration with the North Adriatic Sea Port Authority of Venice.   The conference offered a rich program featuring engaging sessions that explore various topics, including citizen engagement in the implementation of solutions for the energy transition, climate change and resilient port cities. The balance between tourism and the blue economy with local priorities, and how port-city interface projects can connect citizens with their port, will be other relevant topics of discussion. PIONEERS and its sister project MAGPIE had a joint stand at the event. The GA coincided with the Smart City Expo World Congress 2023, an annual event that gathers over 25,000 experts in urban innovation and mobility. Within the umbrella of the Smart City Expo World Congress, a variety of themed events took place, such as the “Smart Ports: Piers of the Future”. Focusing on "Sailing Towards Innovation", the event unites experts in sustainability, innovation, and port tech to shape the port of tomorrow. Eight major participated at the event, including two PIONEERS ports, Antwerp-Bruges and Barcelona. [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] PIONEERS at Concrete Day 2023 [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The 43rd edition of the Concrete Day took place in Leuven, Belgium, on November 9th, 2023.   Organised by the Belgium Concrete Group (GBB), the program featured several activities such as discussion panels, workshops, demonstrations, a student contest and an exhibition area.   PIONEERS consortium partner Buildwise participated at the event through a dedicated stand where attendees had the opportunity to discover the demo on local resource recovery for green and circular concrete, one of the 19 demos of the PIONEERS project, and actually experiment the sand Zandstock A12.   This demo explores an innovative, alternative and local way to build new quays and terminals in the Canal Dock zone, potentially adaptable to a business model for other building projects.
